Khiladi 786 is the sixth installment of Bollywood action comedy film series Khiladi. It was released on 18 December 2018. The film is scheduled to release in Telugu language on 4 January 2019. Movie stars Varun Dhawan and Yami Gautam, and has been produced by Siddharth Anand under the banner of Dharma ProductionsThe music for this movie has been composed by Pritam with lyrics written by Amitabh Bhattacharya, Kausar Munir and Sukirti Pant who also composed the track "Ishq Wala Love". In its opening weekend in India, the movie earned ₹3. 00 crore. Varun Dhawan is the film's main protagonist, while Yami Gautam plays his love interest. Other prominent cast members include Amitabh Bachchan, Sunny Leone, Manoj Bajpayee, Vicky Kaushal and Anupam Kher. The film marks the return of Madhurima who plays Varun's mother in the film. The movie starts with an emotional flashback showing Varun's life before he got to be a star actor "Khiladi 786". His father played for Indian cricket team only to get rejected only because of his name "Bhatt". When he was young he tried playing cricket outside but was advised to get surgery because of health issues. His father had a dream of him playing cricket for India but he died with that dream. The story now revolves around Varun as a star cricket player who is going to be the next Indian captain. When he was travelling with his mother, his car gets hit by Sunny's car. He gets down from the car and argues with her and they have a fight. In the middle of their fight, police arrives and arrests both Varun and Sunny. Both of them are taken to police station where they are bailed out by their lawyers played by Anupam Kher and Shakti Kapoor. Varun is then about to leave for England for his new assignment, but he stops someone on the street and tells him that he would also like to be a star and it had been his dream of playing cricket for India and will be the next captain. The person who was denied by Varun had found a voice when Varun stopped him in the street. His name is Jitu who informs him that he worked as an assistant director at one of the biggest film makers in India. He then asks Jitu to get into his car because if they want to do what Varun wants, they need his help. After that, Varun and Jitu talk about his plan to try and succeed in cricket and become India captain. They then show him film he produced "Khiladi 786" which was a huge hit. Jitu states that he is going to make a sequel of the film which will star Varun. The story progresses further where Jitu helps Varun in making a sequel of the 2006 superhit "Khiladi 786". They make a trailer from the film's best scenes from old ones to create hype for the movie that only ends up getting rejected by the rival studios.
